Can rabbits and dogs get along in the same household as pets?

I've been dreaming of owning a rabbit since I first saw one in a pet store years ago. They are so adorable and... I have a dog named Bandit right now. She's about nine or ten years old and she's nice to everyone she meets. I'm just wondering if this mixed breed of mine can get along with other animals that don't live in a tank for their whole life. Can rabbits and dogs get along in the same household as pets?they normally only get on when they are brought up together, but i did have a rabbit and a dog and the dog used to chase the rabbit but he never hurt her or anything, he just liked running around.

the rabbit enjoyed it too, i would try and find out from like a vet or something.

That's kind of tough. Deep down your sweet dog is a predator, and a little bunny prey, so they may not love up to one another. Even if your dog is sweet, the rabbit could be scared, and scratch or bite the dog out of fear (seriously). Another consideration is that rabbits and fear are not a good combination, so even if the dog is sweet and just showing attention, the rabbit (esp. when it's first brought home) can take it the wrong way -- rabbits can even have a heart attack if they're scared enough.

If you do get a rabbit, do you plan to keep him/her indoors? If you do, maybe keep the rabbit in an indoor cage (one big enough for him/her to hop around in, strectch out, have an area for sleep, one for food, etc, nothing cramped) when the dog is in the room. Maybe keep him/her in your room with the door closed until you slowly introduce the two.

Still, even if they do seem to get along, please never leave the two unattended. Bunnies can easily be seen as a chew toy for a dog, even a sweetie like yours seems to be. If loved too much, the rabbit could die of fright, or over get hurt unintentionally. Can rabbits and dogs get along in the same household as pets?if they are raised together i have dog, cat and birds all leave freely together actually the cat protects and plays with h birdCan rabbits and dogs get along in the same household as pets?
It is highly unlikely. Rabbits are prey for most dogs, who will view them as food. It is possible if the rabbit is large already when you get a puppy and you supervise their playtime that they will get along. But even then you have to watch it, because if it is a large dog breed its definition of "play" may translate as "death" for the rabbit. Can rabbits and dogs get along in the same household as pets?just slowly let them meet to make sure yur dog is ok with this new comer
