How old do you have to be to buy a hamster from pets at home?

Basicly, i wanna get a hamster from pets at home

but i don't know if i'm old enough, im 17,

i have a feeling you have to be 18?

I bought a hamster once, and he was the best hamster ever. He never bit anyone or did something bad.

that is the law about ages, but some shops only sell live things to over 18's. Either lie or bring an older friend along!
