To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?

I ask this because I have never really had a pet that was kept in the house--unless you count goldfish. A few times when I was a kid, we did keep a cat in the house, but mom always ended up putting it back outside because she didn't like having an animal in the house. I have known some people who keep dogs and cats inside, and their houses are pretty clean--but maybe they just clean house religiously.To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?Depends a lot on how clean the PET is.



If your dog goes outside and plays in the dirt he will bring the dirt inside.



If you take your dog outside on walks and he doesn't roll in the dirt your house will stay pretty clean. All you have to do is make sure the dog's feet are clean when he comes in. I keep a towel by the door.

My dog has fairly short hair but it is dark so I find clumps all over the house. I especially notice his fur on the white tiled bathroom floor. no. If your going to have an indoor pet say it be a dog (cause thats what i have had now and in the past) if its a small dog its better to keep it inside i think because they are more suceptable to getting stressed from the outside temp changes and stuff. My dog right now is small and she lies on the foot of my bed and she keeps my feet real warm all night. I just have to remember to let her out and keep her on a scedule of outside time and going to the bathroom. Oh yeah and brush her a few times a week to keep the hair off the couch... i think the indoor animal though tends to become "spoiled" and when it rains doesnt want to go outside even to pee so sometimes there mayh be a mess or two to clean up.To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?I have a dog, that goes outside, and it's impossible to keep my house clean. I can't imagine how it would be if she was kept inside all the time. If you get a cat, and clean it's litter once a day, your house should smell ok.

I'm constantly scrubbing bird poo off the walls from my parrot. I put a plastic mat on the floor, but I don't know what to do for the walls. My cats and dog are housebroken, but I have a good vacuum for pet hair.
I have 3 cats, and sometimes I feel like I am constantly picking up after them. Whether it's cleaning the litter box, vacuuming up litter, sweeping around their food bowl, picking up things they knock down, and washing their bowls, sometimes it feels like they're kids or something. But I still manage to keep my house clean and smelling good, and I love my cats to death, so it is always worth every second of it.To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?
We have five indoor cats and we make more messes than they do. Having hard surface floors vs. carpet really helps keep things clean and odor free. We keep the litter boxes in a spare bathroom that's not otherwise used so that if they track litter it doesn't bother anyone's daily routine. If you groom your pet regularly then the shedding, which is the most consistent problem, is greatly reduced.
I have 1 dog and 2 cats that live in the house. To be perfectly honest my husband is harder to clean up after than the animals!



My dog get brushed outside every day. The litterbox lives in the utility room and gets cleaned daily. These chores combined take a total of 5 minutes.



I sweep the tile and vacuum the carpet daily, and would even without the pets because of the aforementioned husband who does not wipe his feet or believe that toast needs to be put on a plate.



If we are going to have houseguests I will give a quick spray of Febreeze.
I don't think it's hard too. My house is always clean and I have a inside dog two inside cats plus four hamsters. Ok so the hamsters are in cages but the cages don't stink at least. I think it's like picking up after the kids sometimes.
I have two indoor/outdoor dogs and two indoor/outdoor cats. (Mostly indoor, they have access through a doggy door) It's not too much work to keep the house clean. I just vacuum about twice a week, dust every weekend. Keep Oust plug-ins full. No problem really.
I have inside pets,

3 chihuahuas--they are housebroke,

2 ferrets--they are litter box trained

and 2 parakeets.

My house is very clean--I find that my 14 year

old grandson is who I am always cleaning up

after.
As a person who does not keep pets in the house I will tell you their places stink. They don't notice they are used to it. I can walk into someones place and smell cats or dogs. There is also pet hair everywhere, which I do not want on my clothes. Cats in the kitchen-uuuughhh! And pets in beds - Holy Heck - how disgusting.
