No matter how much you spend time with them and care for them they will still be wild and potentially dangerous. Also, since monkeys are primates and therefore close relatives to humans there are many diseases that are easily transferable, including serious ones such as hepatitis, tuberculosis, and herpes.
Also the importing and breeding of monkeys is a cruel trade, robbing baby monkeys from their mothers at very young ages.
They are very difficult to take care of, and very intelligent. They need lots of food and enrichment activities that take a lot of time, money, and effort, as well as large enclosures.
Exotics do not make good pets!What kind of monkees make the best pets ?
