Can I assume pets are probably allowed at this apartment?

I am interested in an apartment (my first one) which has an ad on craigslist. There is no mention of "no pets allowed." It does make a point to mention no smoking. Is it safe to assume my one, well-behaved cat would be OK? In other words, maybe they decide on a case to case basis? Anyone w/experience or insight on this please help. thanks. Can I assume pets are probably allowed at this apartment? You can not assume anything. When you call about the apartment you need to ask. Most apartment owners do not allow pets. Can I assume pets are probably allowed at this apartment?
You cannot assume that just because it states no pets allowed means they are accepting of pets.

You need to call them and ask. Most places now are not as pet friendly anymore like they were in the past. Can I assume pets are probably allowed at this apartment? It would be logical to assume pets are allowed if they make it a point to say "no smoking" but you'd better ask to be sure. It might affect the required deposit or monthly payment. You're more likely to be ok with a cat as opposed to a dog, depends on the place. Just give them a call. Good luck! Can I assume pets are probably allowed at this apartment?
Never assume unless you are prepared to pay for your assumptions. Most places do not allow pets and the few that due normally charge a non refundable fee in addition to a additional pet deposit. Can I assume pets are probably allowed at this apartment? It is rare that a landlord would allow pets. Do not assume they do. Please call for this information.

Even a well behaved cat can have accidents. Can I assume pets are probably allowed at this apartment?
Don't assume anything. If they don't allow smoking they may very well not allow pets either. As a landlord myself, I allow cats, but not dogs. Ask, before signing a lease. Can I assume pets are probably allowed at this apartment?
NO! Not stating "no pets" does NOT automatically mean that they are allowed. NEVER make assumptions in real estate! It is ALWAYS best to double check.
