Are axolotyls good pets for a 7 yr old and how easy are they to keep?

Can they be kept in a normal fish tank with filter ?Are axolotyls good pets for a 7 yr old and how easy are they to keep?I would say there are other pets that would be more appropriate.

They can be kept in a regular tank with a filter, but in most situations, they can't be kept in cool enough water to live their normal lifespan. They prefer water temperatures around 65oF, and in warmer water, an animal that should live about 15 years maybe lives 2.

Axolotls are definitely cute (part of their appeal) but they shouldn't be handled or kept with fish - it's pretty much just the axolotls in a species tank. They aren't very active except when eating and this may create the tendency to want to overfeed them.

Apart from that, their care is much like a fish - weekly water changes of about 25%, feeding with a variety of foods including pellets (fish or turtle), bloodworms, enriched brine shrimp, earthworms, etc.

What types of pets can you order on line?

or through the mail. How do they mail animals? What types of pets can you order on line?Ordering an animal online is never a good idea. The people selling the animals obviously don't care who their animals are going to, as they'll sell to anyone with a credit card without ever meeting or talking to the person. If someone is that apathetic about the homes their animals are going to, then they probably don't care whether or not they're breeding healthy animals. In addition, if you ever have a problem with your animal in the future and need advice, you can bet that the "breeder" isn't going to be of any help to you.

As for the "technical" part of how they get it to you... It is possible to get things shipped to you in 1-2 days, which is obviously the way to go when the thing being shipped is alive. They go in a cage, they get shipped, and you pray that they don't overheat/freeze, get mishandled, or have a heart attack. Stressful for the animal, and not something that I would ever consider a good idea. What types of pets can you order on line?all types

How do i get pets pregnant on sims unleashed?

how do i get the pets pregnant?

another thing i need to know is when i first buy the dog or cat are they still puppies/kittens? do i need to let them grow? How do i get pets pregnant on sims unleashed? If its for sims 2 them to get the pets pregnant you need to first get them to become friends with each other (boy and girl pet) and one of them needs to be friends or have a good relationship with a sim. Then as that sim click on the pet and say try for puppy with... and then the pets name. If the pets refuses to then they don't have a good enough relationship with the other pet or the sim. You can check how old a pet is near the left of the screen somewhere near the time. They are adults (I think) if they are bought at the store, but if they are bought on the phone then I think they can be any age (maybe not elder, I'm not sure). Hope this helps!

How do i get the cheat gnome on sims 2 pets on gamecube?

I have played that game for a very long time, and I know, from experience, that putting in The Sims 2 cheat codes on GameCube is really difficult and frustrating.

All I can say is, you should try entering the code at different speeds, or pressing harder on the buttons (don't break the controller!), and don't stop 'till the gnome is on your lot!

  • Would getting a dog be fair on my other pets?

Currently we own 2 rabbits, 4 guinea pigs and 2 cats. The dog would be supervised in the garden, ie when around the rabbits/ guinea pigs, and would be kept seperate from the cats at night. Also I would get a pretty relaxed dog that has lived with cats before.Would getting a dog be fair on my other pets?Dogs are the most tolerant of animals. Both of my dogs love cats, though one would dearly love to have a word with "Mr. Squirrel". If you get a young dog and train him, he -- and the other animals -- should do fine.Would getting a dog be fair on my other pets?
i think it would be fairWould getting a dog be fair on my other pets?Get an OLD sweet dog.

    From the pound too.

The old ones no one wants =(Would getting a dog be fair on my other pets?
you need 2 give yer attention to all of them equallyWould getting a dog be fair on my other pets?i think it depends on the dog you get, unfortunatley i think it will be a trial and error situation.
If they all get along, it's fine. However, it sounds like you have your hands pretty full with other animals right now. Think long and hard about it before you get one.

My cats and dogs were never separated - they were great playmates and slept together.Would getting a dog be fair on my other pets?
dogs do like attention, soo as long as you still pay attention to your other animals, and love them all the same, it would be like adding a new friend. :)
no it's not fair. Why do you need so many animals?Would getting a dog be fair on my other pets?
Your bunnies must love living in the garden! That's so cool.

My sister has a bunny and he loves my beagle. He'll go up to my dog and nudge him to try to get attention.

Anyway, it sounds like you're being pretty responsible about it and not just getting any random dog. I think your other pets will be fine, and they might end up liking the dog, esp if the dog has lived with cats.
its not bad as long as you divide your attention to them. animals are emotional you know. and make sure to make it comfortable with your cat.. we have 13 dogs, a bird and 2 cats.. when we got a new dog we separated it for a few days and introduced it to the others.. they smelled it. and when they seem to dislike it, i pick it up and try again the next day.. i tell you the others will get used to it somehow..
I have a lot of pets and we got a calm border collie. she's a smart dog and doesn't mess with the other animals. you just have to make sure that when you have a lot of pets that you pay attention to them all, if you don't they tend to get in trouble.
I would say if you want to do it.

Slowly introduce the animals to one another. With the cats I would say keep the dog and cats away from each other by the way of a door. The good thing with that is the animals can both be able to see one another but no be able to physically harm one another. With the rabbits and guinea pigs it would be best to just keep a dog away from them since in the past dogs were trained to hunt those types of animals.
you should get a puppy. I have an english bulldog that we brought home as a puppy and our 4 cats had to get use to her and there weren't any problems, if you bring in an older dog then you will have problems.
As long as you exercise your authority and continue to show your love to them, your other pets and your new dog will learn to live with each other and behave with discipline.

Yes, it will be fair and more fun to all of them.
    should be fine.
get a shelter dog, save a life, get a smaller dog.they usually get along with all the other critters. We had gerbils, rabbit, dogs and cats,If a gerbil escaped, it usually ended in tragedy, cat got one, dog got another, but you cannot blame them for following their instincts. Guinea pigs can pretty much hold their own tho, if animals are socialized for awhile.
What is the situation for the dog? Are you thinking of accepting this dog because s/he is in a bleak situation?

If you just want a dog to have a dog, I'd say hold off for a few years. After your other pets pass on.

Now, if the dog needs to be rescued and you feel like he wouldn't eat your other animals and it wouldn't drive your animals crazy, then why not?

Just make sure your other animals have a safe place to sleep where no other animal will harass them.
i would suggest getting a golden or a great Dane they are really gentle dogs also i have a rabbit but i had a golden[molly] first and when i brought the rabbit home she was more curios then anything lol she gave me looks like "what the heck is this thing" but she doesn't even care anymore i can have the rabbit hopping around and she will be sleeping on the floor. in fact they are doing this right now!

    so ya

if you want to get a dog stay away from the terriers and tiny dogs like chihuahuas [they tend to think their big bad tough dogs and will go after your pets]

go for dogs such as goldens, labs, great Danes, any dogs that have a good reputation for being gentle.
I had 3 dogs and 3 cats when I got King a german shepard black lab puppy back in Sept. So O dont see why you couldnt get a dog if you wanted one.
I think it is a great idea - its someone to cuddle up too lol !

i have a german shepherd and used to have a rabbit and guinea pig - sadly both passed away :( the dog was fine around them but was still supervised at all times . you could go to the shelter and the people should help you pick a perfect dog or you could get a calm puppy and train it from being young this way it could learn to be around your other pets . hope i help ! good luck .
i have 2 guinea pigs , got the dog later no problems, even sleep in the same room when we go out, guinea pigs in cage on floor....
I think the dog would be fine with the other animals depending on what dog you get. i would consider and old sweet dog!

    Hope this helps.....
If done right, you can actually get your dog to be friends with all your other pets! My cat and my dog were best friends!

A dog training video I once had said that the dog must be kept in one particular room while it's very young and the other pets go wherever they're usually allowed to go. I guess the cat is the only one who roams the house so i'll use that as an example.

Keep the room the dog will be in closed for a week before you get the dog so the cat gets used to not going there, then when you have the dog keep the cat out of that room for another 1 or 2 weeks. After that time put the dog in it's cage and bring the cat in and allow it to observe from up on a high place, over time bring the cat onto the floor with you and make a fuss over the cat. Let the dog know that the cat has priority over the dog otherwise there will be territory and jellousy problems. After a while put the cat on the high space and let the dog roam free in the room. If the cat wants to get down then it will but it probably won't! A few days after repeting this, then you let the dog roam around the house, the cat will ajust eventually!

Remember to give your cat the same amount of attention as you usually would!
The BEST way to get a dog and bring it into the family would be as a puppy. I have had several dogs with my cats and as long as the dog grows up with the cats they will be safe. If the dog has already grown up and doesn't like cats, it's understandable. I don't think bringing a dog home would hurt any feeling amongst the animals. Just be careful what kind you bring home that's all. I have a Great Pyrenees that I brought home (as a puppy) to 3 tabby cats, 2 snakes and a rabbit. And all is well. They are big dogs YES but he understands he is sharing his home. Good luck!
i disagree with a jack russell idea because my friend has a jack russell they are very hyperadn they love chasing cats maybe find an old dog thats not too big maybe the size of a beagle they are very tolerant i have two and they don't even mind it when my cats jumps on them

its just the rabbit part because beagles are rabbit dogs :[ otherwise a beagle would be perfect for you
As long as you get a dog who is a young puppy and stay away from Terrier and Hound %26amp; other breeds with a high prey drive, your other animals should be fine. Decide on a short list of breeds and find some reputable breeders who will tell you whether a puppy would fit into your life style or not - not just a breeder who wants to sell their puppies at all costs!
I think you'll be fine. The dog will be completely harmless to the rabbits and guinea pigs. I'm not saying the cats might be totally easy but any cat and dog can live together when they get used to each other. Good luck
I have a friends who rescued a Foxhound and already had a cat. The cat and Pluto now share a bed and even go to the vet together. Get the right mix and it can work very well.
You shouldn't get a big dog but a jack russel would be great.
    no one cares

My dog didn't read labels so when the poison was dry let dog outside when i saw plants start to go brown and have to wait couple of week to get to roots as well caught dog munching on weeds that had been treated

Later not to long after dog stated passing blood in urinating i took took to regular vet had to be neutered as to huge prostate .problem unusual for age of dog.

How would I tactfully ask someone to adopt my pets if anything ever happened to me?

I'm in my 20's but have 14 cats and would like to make sure they would have homes if something ever happened to me. I have a few animal loving family members to make this request to but don't know how to tactfully word it so it doesn't sound as if I'm going to commit sucide or die tomorrow. I don't want them to worry.

I'm writing them in an email. How would I tactfully ask someone to adopt my pets if anything ever happened to me?Hey from another cat herd owner in their 20s. Thats great you are getting things in order. Please make sure that arrangements and back ups are put into your will. You can do something called a pet trust. Thats what I did a few years back. So each of my animals has a certain amount of money that will provide for them for the rest of their lives. I also have a person in place and back ups.

The way I did it was to tell them I was just trying to make sure that should anything happen to me that my animals would be provided for and protected. That you never know what can happen in life and it would give you peace of mind to know they were there should there be an accident, etc.How would I tactfully ask someone to adopt my pets if anything ever happened to me?
~just say, "I am in good health, happy and young, but I worry sometimes that If something were to happen to me, my cats wont have a home."~How would I tactfully ask someone to adopt my pets if anything ever happened to me?Just say that you were thinking about life and thinking about how anything could happen at any moment and you want to be somewhat prepared and just nonchalantly ask if they'd be willing to take in a few cats or make sure they go to a good home is all.How would I tactfully ask someone to adopt my pets if anything ever happened to me?
YOu could always ask your neighbors or other close friends if they would be willing to look after your cats should something unexpected happen to you. Just casually bring it up.How would I tactfully ask someone to adopt my pets if anything ever happened to me?Just ask... Put it in your will as well. Ask them, and tell them that they won't have to worry about it for awhile. Cuz they probably won't... But make sure they actually get along with the pet too.
You could say: "do you know I think you are just the kind of nice generous person I would love to have caring for one of my cats, should I get knocked down by a tram, or a Rangers supporter, please make me smile..........."How would I tactfully ask someone to adopt my pets if anything ever happened to me?
I love the fact you are so practical about your animals welfare, I have "God parents" for my cats too and know it is a difficult thing to ask of someone. Speaking of being practical...I would think of more than one home to participate in adopting your cats, fourteen cats is illegal in many states and over-whelming in most. But to answer your initial question, tell the person that you respect them and what they stand for, let them know you are drawn in by their compassionate side (which is true, right? otehrwise you wouldn 't be asking them!)then say, so because of that I was thinking of asking you to be god parents to...and ask them which cats they could take. Your quest is admirable and I wish you all the luck, sweety
Do not do it. Begin a trust fund for the cats. Don't expect friends to be burdened with the trouble of taking care of them. They may say yes, and haul those felines right off to the pound. Best idea for you is to stick it out, earn some money, do the trust fund which will provide for the pests when you die of old age at 93.How would I tactfully ask someone to adopt my pets if anything ever happened to me?
I don't think there is a way to say it that wouldn't sound suicidal. Lots of people love animals but very few would want 14 cats. It really doesn't seem fair to ask anyone to commit to a burden like that. Even if they say yes, they might just say it to get out of an uncomfortable request situation. Perhaps you could start trying to find no-kill animal shelters in your area instead.

It helps but it is not necessary.

    The process works like this...

First, decide on what your website will be about. Choose a niche market.

Once you have done that, then do your keyword research. You want to determine what

keywords are used most often when searching for related topics/subjects in your niche.

Next you want to carefully choose a domain name. It can be with or without your primary keywords. I recommend that you include your primary keyword in your domain.

Next decide on where your site will be hosted and sign up for hosting service.

You are on a roll now...you just need to pick a software program to make your web pages

Something like Dreamweaver or Kompozer (free).

Start working on your web pages.

I usually get Iams for my cats. I heard about the pet food scare and am wondering what brands of pet food to look out for?Does anyone know what brands of cat and dog food were killing pets?A complete list of the recalled foods can be found at http://www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/petfood.html . The ingredients that you need to look out for is all the glutens and rice protein concentrate. You can just plug in the food you are questioning.

One of the pet food companies put out a video that tells you what should and should not be in your pet's food. It really helped me to understand ingredients a lot better. I haven't found anything else like it on the Internet. You can watch it at http://www.trilogyonline.com/Trilogy/Pets/SafetyMessage.aspx?realname=40042651%26amp;cat=0%26amp;hdr=%26amp;Ath=False

Do pet owners influence their pets personality like parents do with their children?

For example, would my cat have the same cool personality he has if he were raised by someone else? Or do you think they are born with their personality?Do pet owners influence their pets personality like parents do with their children?Ah. nature or nurture?

    I think it's a bit of both.

The personality of an animal can be just fine, but if misunderstood or not taken good care of you'll see

    behavior problems and neurosis.

That's why rescue is so successful. Some of the most wonderful personalities are dumped, ignored, mistreated or

    otherwise unappreciated.

Once they are in the right hands, they are often the sweetest animals ever.

So, I think behavior problems could definitely overwhelm personality, but once things are good, the animal reaches

its full potential.Do pet owners influence their pets personality like parents do with their children?
Yes, kindness and strictness do influence an animal's innate personality. Your cat's general personality would prevail but just like children; the home that can provide the most positive growth potential will help the cat be its best.Do pet owners influence their pets personality like parents do with their children?I've had two pitbulls in my life. My first one we got when he was a puppy and he became somewhat viscious because we were not strict with him(he died by running onto a highway). We got the second pitbull when she was about one years old and she is sooooooooo sweet and kind. We were more strict with her. She loves people, but does not like animals because she is rarely around them.

Also, lets say that your cat was abused before you had her, she will most likely be very shy and protective of herself.

My opinion is that animals can be trained(like children). If you let them loose then they will do whatever they choose(like the first pitbull) and if you discipline them but show them love at the same time(like the second pitbull), they know their limits and have a better disposition.Do pet owners influence their pets personality like parents do with their children?
i think they are born with their own personality, but are influenced by our own. for instance my son has a beautiful cat with the most hellish personality. she's never been mistreated in any way, but if you pick her up, she's like a devil cat. she hisses and growls like she's going to tear you apart, but my son will kiss her face and love on her and she never bites or scratches. i think she just likes being mean.Do pet owners influence their pets personality like parents do with their children?Pets are influenced by our behavior. We are part of " The Pack", or "The Pride".

How do you get rid of rats when you have pets and cannot use poison?

Our entire neighborhood is infested with rats since they are building a new development down the street. We have killed a few rats with traps, but our dogs are getting smarter and starting to eat the bait (peanut butter) and I'm afraid they are going to get snapped by the trap. What else do people use? The exterminator gave up!How do you get rid of rats when you have pets and cannot use poison?Ugh! We went through this a few summers ago and it was terrible. I can truly sympathize. The rats were getting into people's cars and chewing through hoses and seat cushions, and drowning in swimming pools and getting into attics... gross. When we would sit on the porch at night and look into the trees, there would be rats hopping around up there. Shudder!!!

Find out what kind of rats they are for starters. (I know more than I ever wanted to know now about roof rats! That's the kind we have.) The other usual kind are Norway rats. They're the super big ones. The roof rats are big enough, thank you very much!

If yours are roof rats it doesn't do a whole lot of good to put traps and bait out along the floor because they go for high places.

Rats are incredibly smart. You think your dogs are smart? The rats have post docs from rodent Harvard. This makes it difficult for me, a soft hearted animal lover to kill them, but that one terrible summer I had to get over it.

The problem with snap traps is that the rats only have to see it work once and they'll never go near it again, so you basically can only catch one rat in one location. You have to move the darned things.

But the trick there is that they won't use it immediately. You have to wait for a dumbish rat to try it, and I've found that they usually catch baby rats. (There's no such thing as a dumb rat, really, just a less experienced rat.) The adults are too smart to fall for rat traps if they've seen their compadre's fall in one. Some adult rats know how to get the bait without being snapped... umbelievable.

In a whole year I only caught one rat with a humane trap and it was a baby. I put the best food in there and none of them wanted to mess with it. We did manage to catch our kids' hamsters using the humane trap when they got out, but not rats.

Poison was the only thing that really worked, so we put it up on shelves up high in the garage and in the attic. We couldn't put it where the animals could get it (we have cats and dogs, too.) I wasn't happy with that solution

You can try using those sticky traps, but the problem there is that you then have a live rat stuck to the trap and you still have to kill it. We found the best way was to put it in a trash can with an open container of starter fluid and put the lid on. The rat goes to sleep and dies.

If you are a gardener, do not keep a compost pile outside, even with a lid. Rats love compost.

Make sure all food sources are covered and locked down tight. I had the problem of a large water source- I have a water garden. I couldn't do anything about that but we could eliminate food sources by being careful how we bagged trash, etc.How do you get rid of rats when you have pets and cannot use poison?
There is one that is kind of barbaric. It is a bucket trap. They are very simple to make and are pretty effective.

    http://journeytoforever.org/at_rattrap3.鈥?/a>

The idea is that it is a bucket of water with an ear of corn that is impaled with a rod and placed over the bucket in a way where it can easily rotate. The rat climbs the rod to get to the corn but it is a tricky thing to do since the corn and rod can rotate and spin. The rat will slip and fall into the bucket where it has no way out and will drown.

The article I posted says to bury the bucket at ground level. This will mean that the dog can still probably reach the corn (which they recommend putting some peanut butter on to help entice the rats). A bit of screen or chicken wire in the shape of a tent might prevent the dog from getting to the bait. At the very least, this trap cannot accidentally get the dog unless it is a very small dog.

I saw this on a documentory about a mouse population explosion in Australia. The farmers and ranchers there were using it to kill off the mice in very large numbers.

It is pretty cruel to trap the rat and let it drown, but that is safer than living with a rat population. Rats can get pretty mean and there is always the disease factor. How do you get rid of rats when you have pets and cannot use poison?glue trapsHow do you get rid of rats when you have pets and cannot use poison?
We deal with them here in Hawaii too, so what we all use, are bait stations, that is a black plastic box, with poison inside. The dogs and cats can not get inside, as there is a small hole only for the rat to enter, he eats the poison, then goes back to his nest and dies. The traps are checked every 3 months, sometimes less, and then more poison is put inside. Also, get a few cats running around there, and they will wipe out the rats. How do you get rid of rats when you have pets and cannot use poison?if you have a fence, try to wood up any opening that they might fit into.

get some traps for deacon a rat poison so the rats can eat but is too small for the dogs plus I don't think they would be interested in the smell.

place them strategically out of the way of the dogs, corners, just under the fence or gate. that kind of thing.

if you don't have a gait then I hope you can make a small box and attach it to something so the dogs can't knock it over, put the deacon with Little peanut butter in the holder and hope for the best.

you won't get rid of all of them for along time but you can continue to call the exterminator for the city out to your area he can spray or bait. How do you get rid of rats when you have pets and cannot use poison?
rats do get smart to snap traps, but here's a tip for a little better success with that type of trap: tie a good sized crumb of cracker onto the baiting area with a little bit of string. That way they actually have to gnaw and pull to get the bait instead of tenderly licking it off.

Also, DON'T USE POISON! even if you put the poison out of your pet's reach, there is a possibility that the dead mouse may be eaten by another animal and the poison is still in that mouse!

Glue traps work best if you can secure them to the floor or to whatever surface you put them on. I used them in my old house and i would find those glue traps in the weirdest places because the mouse would get a leg or tail caught and drag the trap around until it could find something to squeeze through that the trap wouldn't fit through and pull itself right off of the dang thing!

Now we use the electronic repellents. They seem to work great and pets don't hear them. How do you get rid of rats when you have pets and cannot use poison?
    Ninja suits and 410 Shotguns.

    God Bless
Call the town health department. They should assist in the treatment of rats in a neighbor as long as others are complaining also.

If your exterminator gave up, find a better one.

The rodent baits that are available are the best solution. They should be secured in a tamper-proof bait station and pets/kids will have no access.

    Good Luck

Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?

Would they be a good pet for one single kid to take care of? Also, is it hard to clean their cages? Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?i had a hamster as a kid.

YES it will be great for a single kid to take care of if....

    1. you tell them, teach them, show them how to take care of the hamster. get a book on it, and ask the pet store on tips.

    2. get a teddy bear hamster! dwarfs are cute but fast and a kid cant hold them well

    3. cage cleaning is easy but USE THE RIGHT SOAP otherwise you could kill your furry friend

    4. make sure before buying one that it is healthy (no discolored teeth, no nose goo, a shiny coat, no hunched back) ask the pet store if ya can hold the hamster first (dont get one that bites!)Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?
yes they are AWESOMe great for kids!!!

Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?guinea pigs. funner, easier, bite less often, and are more cuddly. Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?
hmasters cages are very stinky and hard to clean. I suggest a hermit crab instead, easy and fun. Most dont pinch. Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?No, they bite.

The bite is very painful and deep, it will bleed and bleed until the would finally clots.

I was just remembering getting bitten by my sister's hamster when I was a kid.
When i was younger i had a friend who had hampsters. She had only one at first, and never took care of it. When you dont clean its cage it will start to smell really bad.

Everytime she took it out, it was always trying to run away from her, and eventually, it got lost in the house. They're tiny and easy to loose, and its really sad if you start to love it, and it gets lost and then you find it dead somewhere, which could happen. It happend to my friend, and she cried alot. Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?
It really depends on the kid. . Kids just have to pay careful attention to those small rodents. They can get lost pretty easily. My cousin once bought a hamster and it ran away and hid in her garage and was then found about three or four days later. Fortunately it was found alive.
Im 15 and i love my dear hammy im probley ging to get another one soon.

When i was eight i got a hamster from a freind. After about the first week the whole Novilety wore off and my mom did almost everthing for it.

At about age 12 i bought another hamster. I took really good care of him and did everything myself. Heck I even took care of my sisters.

now im 15 and i have a new hamster he is living the life.

So If you buy your hamster for your/someone esles kid you have to be sure that they will look after it. Hamsters are not toys but have to be cared for properly.

Cleaning is diferent fepending on the type of cage you get so it will very for everyone. Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?
    noooooooooooooooooooooo

hamsters are delicate and easily crusheded... and then the kid would have to clean the cage and stuff and if the kid gets bit hes gona cry

    just no

    deffinetely not
Sorry if I disappoint you but I remember when I was a kid I used to have hamsters. You have to keep them really clean, especially their cages, and they are not so friendly. When you take them out of the cage you have to run after them. Pets are good for the kids but If I were you I wouldnt choose a hamster.
yes!!! i have a robo hamster and shes the most adorable ever!!!! she looks at me with her cute eyes. i cant believe that i was able to tame her since robos are only for viewing purposes. but mine, im able to touch her and play with her. shes just soo adorable.
kinda, it depends if u are prepared to help wiv the care and if the kid is responcible and over 5 yrs
    here are the basics.

    1. hamsters are fun

    2. if they are in the right hands and treated correctly they will learn not to bite.

    3. they cage only gets smelly if you dont clean

    4. it may or may not be hard to clean the cage according to what kinda cage you have

    last but not least

    5. hamsters are great pets and usaully love to be played with
hamsters bite and make noise all night. guinea pigs are very sweet and dont mind being handled gently but older children and adults.
yes long as you clean the cages if you dont theyll get wet tail(deadly) and die; wet tail comes from a dirty cage
if you do decide to get a hamster, get a syrian, which are more friendly and don't bite as much.

they are very easy to take care of because they don't require a lot of time and money. all you need to do is replace their food dish and water bottle daily, and clean the cage once a week. cleaning the cage isn't hard either. all you have to do is replace the bedding.

How do I get my puppy from bitting everybody who pets him?

he is an 11 month old Malmute and wont stop bitting people who pet him.How do I get my puppy from bitting everybody who pets him?Hi there, I am a Veterinarian Technician and a Dog Obediance Instructor specializing in puppies. Rottie's are geat dogs!! I hope I can help you! First of all, congratulations on your new puppy! How exciting! Secondly, I do have two suggestions/strategies to help you stop your puppy from nipping! It is good to know your puppy is only play biting (which is the case 9 out of 10 times), but please be aware if play biting is not stopped, it can lead to agressive/territorial biting even over something as silly as a sock they want to play with. I am also wondering if it is a quick bite or a clenched on bite, there are different ways to go about those. Anyways, luckily for you, it is not too late!! The first strategy I would like you to try is something littermates would teach each other when they were very young pups still with mom: Each time your puppy bites you I want you to let out that loud, earpiercing, yelp that I know you have heard from other dogs. That is how other dogs communicate to each other that the behavior is not acceptable. It is important that you don't yell, hit, or bite your puppy back (trust me, I have seen EVERYTHING!), instead let out a loud yelp. It might take a few times for your puppy to realize what your message is, but remember it is so so important to remain consistant! Don't yelp every other time she bites, yelp each and every time or you will leave your puppy confused as to why sometimes she can bite, and sometimes she can't. If that doesn't work (it really should if done consistantly!) then you can try to associate a word with a behavior and a consequence. Think when you try to teach your puppy to sit. You associate a word ("Sit!") with a behavior (when they actually it) with a consequence (a cookie, praise, rubs, etc. remember... consequences are not always bad! they are just a result o a choosed behavior!). So apply the whole sit concept to the biting. Your word could be as simple as "Ouch!" (say it sternly, you can use a louder voice, but don't yell) when she bites (behavior) and the consequence (as SOON as your puppy releases from the bite reward them with a cookie, praise, rub, etc. Again, it might take a few tries (ok, maybe a week, so again, stay consistant. If you feel like the cookies, praise, etc. are not working you could absolutely still use your word "Ouch!" and then immediately pick your puppy up (not in an angry way, just sternly) and put her into her crate for 1 minute. Go on doing your business as she is crated, ignore any barking, crying, eye contact. Then after the minute is up let her out and praise her! Each time you say "Ouch!" and place her in her crate she will associate the behavior (biting) with the consequence (crate). Dogs are smart and want to please, she will catch on! Just remember to stay calm and assertive! How do I get my puppy from bitting everybody who pets him?when he/she bites, slap them on the snout and say "NO" in a firm voice. this lets the animal know that you mean buisness even though they cant understand you. if the animal stops biting, reward it by taking it to the local pet store to get it a new toy. this lets the animal pick out what they would like. stick to that and soon enough, the puppy will get the idea. just dont give up! best of wishes! God bless!

What kind of pets do they have around the world?

Like will you find a pet dog in the congo? or do they have other pets? Or in some place like china, do they have like some other kind of pet? Just curious =]What kind of pets do they have around the world?Domestic cats and dogs are kept as pets all over the world.

They're popular for a reason: they've been domesticated (used to humans) for centuries. This means that their behavior is more or less predictable, which sets them FAR apart from wild animals in terms of living with people.

What are good pets for apartment living?

We just moved to an apartment, and I'd really love to have another pet...I love animals and I'm capable of taking care of nearly anything.

What sort of animals/breeds would be good for apartment living? What are good pets for apartment living?not a rabbit, not if you want your deposit back, rabbits are messy. Personally I go with fish near silent and they have a hard time damaging things from inside the tank. Also a lot of landlords don't make you pay that fee for something like a betta fish. I personally am a fan of betta fish. if you choose carefully you can get a whole lot of personality in three inches of fish. When you choose a betta you want to make sure you've got one that is looking at you and is paying attention to you, if they wiggle at the store or aren't afraid of your finger that's even better. If you choose a good one it should wiggle when it sees you and it might even fight your finger or a small object by flaring out its gills (i have a tiny rubber duck for this purpose) they can be pretty interactive, while at the same time they are easy to care for and very cheap. What are good pets for apartment living?
well i wouldn't get a dog, because barking may be an issue and even if its a lazy dog breed or a small one it probably won't get proper exercise, but this might not be the case. i think you could get a small animal such as a guinea pig, hamster, ferret, gerbil or a rabbit! rabbits especially are really good pets, and people say they smell bad, but they don't--its there cage that does if you don't clean it, but as long as you clean its cage and feed it and give it a big enough cage they make great, loving pets. or you could always get a cat. cats are good apartment pets as well. however, if you have allergies or if you have a busy schedule, then I think a fish or pet bird would be goodWhat are good pets for apartment living?Goldfish, betta fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, hermit crabs, tarantulas, a cat, a small dog (chihuahua, daschund, pug%26lt;3, shih-tzu, etc) , birds, rats, a small snake, turtles if you have enough space for a big tank, chinchillas, sugar gliders, frogs, ferrets, um...a pet rock? a digital pet? xD

There are lots of options, just try to avoid iguanas (adult iguanas are HUGE, you'd need lots of space) or big sporty dogs (you'll probably take them out for walks, but it'd be stressful for them to live in a small palce anyway, don't you think?)What are good pets for apartment living?
i would suggest a small animal such as a rat, guinea pig, bunny(but they smell terrible! %26gt;.%26lt;) , or hamster(but they bite alot) . or, if your not really the rodent-type-person, you could see if your apt. allows dogs. if it does, i would suggest a dachshund! :D or a cat......but there are way more down sides that i know of to cats than up sides :/ hope this helps! :) oh! you can also try birds, but they r noisy %26gt;_%26lt; or one more thing.....a reptile like a bearded dragon or a snake.haha ok im doneWhat are good pets for apartment living?Dogs or cats, depend on how much time you have for the pet. Because almost every breeds of dogs need attention and walks, while cats doesn't.
Lazy ones! Adopt a greyhound. They're 90 mph couch potatoes. Find yourself one that's been retired and adopt it. It should be near free to do and it will love you forever. They're lazy bums but provide affection and keep your seat warm. What are good pets for apartment living?
Any dog you get you'll have to walk if you can. I'd get a small dog. A cat would probably be better. You might have to check with your landlord if you get anything exotic like a lizard, or if you get a rat.
Hamsters, Gerbils, Ferrets, Birds, any small pet would be good. What are good pets for apartment living?
small and quite parrots like lovebirds and cocktails also hamsters are great too.
Cats. That way your neighbors won't deal with barking. Also, guinea pigs are fun and very cute(:

Feed high quality food and brush the pets outside as often as need be. Some animals (species, breeds) need brushed daily, others can get by with once a week or so. You didn't specify, so can't tell you how often.

Restrict them from rooms you want to keep fur free.

Other than that, come with the responsibilty of owning the pets.

She could make YOU vacumn every day, then she wouldn't have to. I wouldn't complain too much about the shedding ;)My pets shed a lot. Is there any way to keep the carpet clean without vacuuming every day?Brush the dog more often to help the shedding. Try giving the dog brewers yeast with garlic. It is great to help lighten the shedding and fleas hate the taste of garlic so the dog will be better guarded against fleas! Plus it is natural which means no pesticides like in the flea drops. Brush the dogs really well a few days per week. Now that it is nice outside, do it in the yard, and just toss the hair out into the grass. The birds will use it to make nests :D

I want to get a parrot (peach faced lovebird) but my parents won't let me because I will be going to university in a few years and they don't want to be stuck caring for it. Would I be able to bring a parrot to live with me on residence? Thanks! What pets are allowed at the University of Alberta?Let me be clear: Under absolutely no circumstances will you be allowed to bring a pet on campus.

If, as a sophomore or later you choose to live off campus, then you can do what you want. BUT - at that time in your life you will be extremely busy - with school, friends, a significant other, part time work. You will be going to parties, or hosting them, with possible alcohol, smoking, etc.

In short, you will not have time for an animal as intelligent and complicated as a parrot. If you bring him into your college environment, you will probably endanger his life. Later, when you're on your own, and you've done your research on how to raise parrots, and you fully understand their needs and requirements, then by all means - they're great pets. Demanding, complicated, extremely time-consuming, wonderful pets.

But please, please, not now. What pets are allowed at the University of Alberta?I would very much doubt it. You will be sharing a room with at least one other person, and there is usually very little space in university residences. If you are lucky, they may let you have a goldfish, but most schools won't allow any pets at all. What pets are allowed at the University of Alberta?Likely not. Residence is shared living - for reasons of respect to potential roommates and health/allergy reasons, residences aren't keen on accepting pets. Just easier to say no to everyone there. When you're out on your own, get as many parrots as you want.

I'm going to college and I own a chinchilla and a shi tzu dog. I can't take them with me and my parents won't take care of them. I need to find good homes for them, is there a website that lets you put them up for adoption according to the state you live in?How do I find good homes for my pets? You should ask your friends, relatives other then your parents, and anyone that you know if they would take them in so that you would still be able to see them. You could also post them on petfinder.com or in your local newspaper....just make sure that you meet and check out the people that are interested in them. What pets can be kept in college dorm rooms?

I need to know before school starts. What pets can be kept in college dorm rooms?Fish are the only ones legal in most dorms. However... %26gt;:)

There are ways around that. R.A.s (Resident Assistants) have to post signs that tell you when they are going to inspect your room. So, if you have a pet snake, lizard, mouse, gerbil, hamster, etc... you can put it under your desk and drape the desk with a decorative blanket. R.A.'s are not allowed to look under anything that is covered completely. I know. I was an R.A. AND I had a pet lizard. Bruhaha!!!

Anyway. It's a little more complicated to hide a cat or a dog, but it can be done...I don't know about the dog...the barking would be problematic. But I had a friend who kept a cat without a problem for a while...until the R.D. (Resident Director) spotted it sitting on the window sill. She'd just take it to a friend's apartment when there was an inspection.

If you get caught, you'll get a fine the first time and get kicked out of the dorms the second...at least that was the policy at my school...Clemson University...when I went 93-97.

You might want to keep it to a fish unless you just can't help it!!! :) Good luck in college! What pets can be kept in college dorm rooms?
You are only allowed to have fish and anything that can live underwater (like african dwarf frogs and such). I know of people who have brought in rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, mice, rats, and sugar gliders, but you have to be extremely careful getting them and there stuff in and making sure that they arnt noisy. The CA can come in your room at anytime if she/he feels there is something wrong with the situation. Also before you go trying to bring in furry pets, you need to make sure its ok with your roomie and that they arnt allergic and they arnt gonna rat you out. What pets can be kept in college dorm rooms?Check with your school. Certain schools might allow animals into the dorms, but some don't.What pets can be kept in college dorm rooms?
Most dorms don't allow pets. Sometimes you can sneak them in. But, if you're caught, you have to get it out of the dorms immediately. What pets can be kept in college dorm rooms? Not sure where you are going, but at Virginia Tech they only allow fish. Check your school's web page and look for some dorm room policies.
best way to find out is to call and ask the school. if there not open you stell net to make plans for where your pet can go if you can or can't take it.What pets can be kept in college dorm rooms?
Check with the school's housing office. They should have a list of pets that are allowed. In my college, we were only allowed fish.
i don't think your allowed to have pets in dorm rooms, and if you were thats not right to the pet, those dorm rooms are way to small even for humans!!!What pets can be kept in college dorm rooms?
It depends on the college, and, possibly, the dorm you're staying in.

Try to get in touch with the school, somehow, and ask.
    fishies

the rest depends on the college campus rules
    Fish
Check with the school to see what their policy is. Most colleges only allow fish or nothing at all. What pet would want to stay in a closet-sized room all day and night??
fish, there small, don't need that much attention, don't eat to much, and are nice to look at.

How do I breed wild otters into domesticated pets?

About how long will this take, I would like to start a pet otter selling business soon. How do I breed wild otters into domesticated pets?It would take much longer than your lifetime. As river otters are a native U.S. species, you would have to appropriate the necessary permits just to keep them, and you will no doubt be denied, considering your goals. River otters are a challenge to keep, and difficult to breed. I have worked at two zoos that kept otters, and at each after several years of keeping them, there was only one litter at each zoo. Otters are not going to become domesticated pets, at least not in our lifetimes, and by the way, breeding wild-caught native animals and selling them is ILLEGAL. Here, have a look at this:

http://data.iucn.org/dbtw-wpd/html/Otter鈥?/a>How do I breed wild otters into domesticated pets? The domestication of the siberian fox into a companion pet suggests that otters could be domesticated within a lifetime, though still a legal and logistical nightmare. Dmitri Belyaev was able to breed "tame" foxes in 10 generations.

Still wouldn't suggest it, tho. Just saying it's possible.

How do I breed wild otters into domesticated pets? You would need about 2 hundred years at least, and a few million wild otters.

How experienced are you in keeping them? One otter is enough of a burden, let alone a few million. And look at the problems we have trying to find homes for cats and dogs, which are very well domesticated over many hundreds of years. Do you want to be responsible for subjecting otters to this as well?

Domestication is a difficult, complicated process. I do not see otters domesticating well: they eat fish, for one thing! It's hard to find enough fish to feed one otter, and pet food grade fish is from terrible suppliers which are doing great damage to wild fish stocks. If otters became popular pets, it could bring down wild fish numbers dramatically, destroy many marine habitats and eventually all the wild seals, whales etc which feed on fish will not be able to find enough to live.

Let the wild otters play in the stream in their families, hunting fish which is what they are designed to do. Ignore the vicious human desire to create a fat, slow otter eating smelly seafood from a plate. How do I breed wild otters into domesticated pets?
you can't. Your question answers itself... wild otters are just that.... wild. They can be dangerous animals and should not be kept as pets. Additionally, otters have very specific food and environmental needs that are exceedingly difficult to meet and maintain. For example, sea otters kept in captivity cost about $15,000 a year just to feed.

If you are wondering how long it takes to domesticate a species, well that depends on the species and the generation time of that species.

To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?

I ask this because I have never really had a pet that was kept in the house--unless you count goldfish. A few times when I was a kid, we did keep a cat in the house, but mom always ended up putting it back outside because she didn't like having an animal in the house. I have known some people who keep dogs and cats inside, and their houses are pretty clean--but maybe they just clean house religiously. To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?Depends a lot on how clean the PET is.

If your dog goes outside and plays in the dirt he will bring the dirt inside.

If you take your dog outside on walks and he doesn't roll in the dirt your house will stay pretty clean. All you have to do is make sure the dog's feet are clean when he comes in. I keep a towel by the door.

Some dogs tend to shed a lot of hair, but some breeds tend not to shed.To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?
nopeTo people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?I have a dog and kitten and I find I constantly need to vaccum. My dog has fairly short hair but it is dark so I find clumps all over the house. I especially notice his fur on the white tiled bathroom floor. If you can keep up with the vaccumming, it should be fineTo people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?
no. If your going to have an indoor pet say it be a dog (cause thats what i have had now and in the past) if its a small dog its better to keep it inside i think because they are more suceptable to getting stressed from the outside temp changes and stuff. My dog right now is small and she lies on the foot of my bed and she keeps my feet real warm all night. I just have to remember to let her out and keep her on a scedule of outside time and going to the bathroom. Oh yeah and brush her a few times a week to keep the hair off the couch... i think the indoor animal though tends to become "spoiled" and when it rains doesnt want to go outside even to pee so sometimes there mayh be a mess or two to clean up.To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?I have a dog, that goes outside, and it's impossible to keep my house clean. I can't imagine how it would be if she was kept inside all the time. If you get a cat, and clean it's litter once a day, your house should smell ok.
its harder yeah , i mean you have to vacuum alot more and have to spray stuff cause they smell up your houseTo people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?
I'm constantly scrubbing bird poo off the walls from my parrot. I put a plastic mat on the floor, but I don't know what to do for the walls. My cats and dog are housebroken, but I have a good vacuum for pet hair.
I have 3 cats, and sometimes I feel like I am constantly picking up after them. Whether it's cleaning the litter box, vacuuming up litter, sweeping around their food bowl, picking up things they knock down, and washing their bowls, sometimes it feels like they're kids or something. But I still manage to keep my house clean and smelling good, and I love my cats to death, so it is always worth every second of it.To people who have inside pets: Is it hard to keep your house clean when you have pets that live inside?
We have five indoor cats and we make more messes than they do. Having hard surface floors vs. carpet really helps keep things clean and odor free. We keep the litter boxes in a spare bathroom that's not otherwise used so that if they track litter it doesn't bother anyone's daily routine. If you groom your pet regularly then the shedding, which is the most consistent problem, is greatly reduced.
I have 1 dog and 2 cats that live in the house. To be perfectly honest my husband is harder to clean up after than the animals!

My dog get brushed outside every day. The litterbox lives in the utility room and gets cleaned daily. These chores combined take a total of 5 minutes.

I sweep the tile and vacuum the carpet daily, and would even without the pets because of the aforementioned husband who does not wipe his feet or believe that toast needs to be put on a plate.

If we are going to have houseguests I will give a quick spray of Febreeze.
I don't think it's hard too. My house is always clean and I have a inside dog two inside cats plus four hamsters. Ok so the hamsters are in cages but the cages don't stink at least. I think it's like picking up after the kids sometimes.
I have two indoor/outdoor dogs and two indoor/outdoor cats. (Mostly indoor, they have access through a doggy door) It's not too much work to keep the house clean. I just vacuum about twice a week, dust every weekend. Keep Oust plug-ins full. No problem really.
    I have inside pets,

    3 chihuahuas--they are housebroke,

2 ferrets--they are litter box trained

    and 2 parakeets.

My house is very clean--I find that my 14 year

old grandson is who I am always cleaning up

    after.
As a person who does not keep pets in the house I will tell you their places stink. They don't notice they are used to it. I can walk into someones place and smell cats or dogs. There is also pet hair everywhere, which I do not want on my clothes. Cats in the kitchen-uuuughhh! And pets in beds - Holy Heck - how disgusting.

Is there such thing as a veterinarian specializing in all pets?

Is there any such thing as a veterinarian who has been trained and specializes in all/many different pets? I love all animals big and small, could I work with cats, dogs, birds, lizards, farm animals, etc...?Is there such thing as a veterinarian specializing in all pets? You can certainly get vets that are great working with animals of all types- my vet is one of these vets- he works with cats, dogs, farm animals, and is great with my little pets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and parrots.

Usually, these vets do a heap of different training in a variety of fields, and need to continue this training over the years to ensure they are up to date on all the latest medications, health problems, surgical techniques, etc.

But to truly specialise in a field, you really have to focus on one type of animal. For example, there are parrot and bird specialists who deal exclusively with parrots and birds. In the event of a serious health problem with one of your birds, this is who you are better off going to help from.

I have spoken to a rabbit specialist who deals exclusively in rabbits, and have even heard of a fish specialist who specialises in fish surgery.

It would be very difficult for a normal vet to specialise properly in every different field as the 'real' specialists do, because there is an intense amount of study, research, and practice that you need to do in order to become a true specialist. Normal vets would be dragged down by dealing with different species, learning all new information for different animals, etc.Is there such thing as a veterinarian specializing in all pets?Yes, my vet sees all types of pets, he is really good. Next to that was the Bissell Pet model that just died on use about a year ago. We replaced it with the Dyson.

We tried the Eureka that was recommended in CR, the front section with the brushes broke after about 3 months and the suction port just behind the brushes became blocked in that same time frame. It was fine for about the first month but you need a shop vac to clean it out to keep its cleaning ability up.

I like the Dyson because you can kill power to the brush for hard surfaces.

Downside is the price. What is the best vacuum for a house with pets- do I really need to spend over $400 on a vacuum?
First, try to brush the animals often to cut down on the fur flying around the house. Depending on how much they are shedding, you might want to try a shop vac. They come in large and small sizes, they're cheap, they eat just about anything, and no roller brush to clean. Then again, if you have sensitive carpeting, (anything but flat), you might want to go to the expense of the Dyson Animal. What is the best vacuum for a house with pets- do I really need to spend over $400 on a vacuum?Get a Dyson, it comes with an attachment for pet hair and that right there is worth the money! What is the best vacuum for a house with pets- do I really need to spend over $400 on a vacuum?
They cost quite a bit more..But if you really want to clean your house... Try a Rainbow..We have had many vacuums over the years..but the Rainbow picks up more %26amp; it doesn't put dust back into the air..All the residue is trapped in a water resevoir. It takes a minute or two to dump the resevoir when your're done..but you will be amazed at what it picks up..No more "dust bags".What is the best vacuum for a house with pets- do I really need to spend over $400 on a vacuum?
Hi, A friend recently bought a Eureka boss smart vac ultra 4870 and she loves it. She said it was recommended by a leading consumer magazine and rated right up there with higher priced vacuums. It was priced around 150.00 and really cleans carpets and bare floors. Has hepa filtration, 8 carpet settings, convenient tools and ability to control suction when using tools. Hope this helps.

I came home one afternoon, and my dog was acting kinda funny; stumbling, salivating, rather cross-eyed. I ran him to the vet, as I thought maybe someone had poisoned him (my neighbors hate dogs). The vet gave him stuff to make him vomit, and the vomit smelled rather familiar. There were small black/brown specks in it, too. An hour later, my dog was fine, so we went home. Every pet I have owned has never been affected by it health wise. The do get stoned too though. How harmful can secondhand smoke from marijuana be to pets?
i doubt that any hip cats would mind a hit of weed. after all they adore catnip. i have seen pets climb up on couches when people were smoking up just to get closer to the smoke
Unlike cigarettes, marijuana is not processed for shelf life. It is no worse for them than smoke from a bbq.
It's as harmful to pets as it is to ANY BREATHING Creature...

What makes you think it's different... your pets breathe and have lungs, don't they???

    Don't smoke it!!
Just like marajuana is harmful to people, its harmful to pets too. On the Discovery Channel (or at least I think it was) they had this program call "Bugs on Drugs" in which scientists would let various insects be around marajuana smoke. One spider made its web all messed up and similar things happened to other bugs. Even though you may have a larger pet than perhaps a spider, yes, the smoke is just as, if not worse for pets.
you have to put them in a box or bag or something and then blow the smoke into the box. otherwise, it's too diluted.
if it ain't harmful to us, how harmful could it be to them?

Animal hoarding is a felony offense, with mandatory jail time, fines, and never being allowed to have any contact with animals ever again. How many pets (dogs %26amp; cats only) is one household legally allowed to have?It all depends on the laws for each individual city/town/state/province. In my town, located in Ontario, Canada, by-law stipulates that you are allowed 4 animals per household. You are allowed to own 2 dogs and two cats. If you own 3 dogs, you need a kennel license. Call your local municipality to find out the answers. How many pets (dogs %26amp; cats only) is one household legally allowed to have?Check the county, township and city laws to see if they have a limit. Most do have one, and require anyone exceeding that limit to be licensed as a kennel, or there is sometimes a permit for those who love to have lots of animals (I forget the exact term).

As for the odor, usually there is an ordinance stating that such a situation is declared a nuisance. How many pets (dogs %26amp; cats only) is one household legally allowed to have?
Depends on the state, but that does sound like too much. Almost like a hoarder. You should call the local ASPCA and they'll take care of it.

What are the easiest pets to take care of?

I have always wanted a turtle but I really don't know how easy or hard they are to take care of. I was wondering what is an easy pet to take care of that can be held, is inexpensive, and can be put in a tank. Please no fish, pet rocks, birds, or snakes. Also, no hermit crabs because they always die on me.What are the easiest pets to take care of?Little Aquatic dwarf frogs.

I have African aquatic dwarf frogs.

They usually come with their own tank and a cleaner and 1 year supply of food and gravel and bamboo.

If you want to use your own tank make sure it is small.

If it is big I would not recommend using it.

They only eat twice a week 2 pellets per frog.

HOPE I HELPED :)What are the easiest pets to take care of?
Turtles aren't that easy to care for. They need LARGE tanks, with special equipment. This equipment can get pricey.

The easiest animal to care for, that can live in a tank, is a hamster. They are furry and can be held. In fact, they need daily handeling in order to keep them used to you, and happy. They also need daily feeding/watering, and weekly cage change.

I have a Pueblan Milk snake, a spotted python, and a butter color corn snake, myself.

Milk snakes, spotted pythons, and corn snakes are all are easy to take care of, and good first choices for snakes. King snakes are also nice.

Pythons do tend to cost more though. They are bigger than those other types, and will cost more since they need more than the others of most things, and also, a larger terrarium.

I find that my milk snake is extremely jittery, and hates being picked up, or even touched at all. I think a lot of them are like that. Some are better, but the ones that I've known are pretty jittery. But mine is still quite gentle, and wont bite me, or anything. She just flips around, and pees all over me whenever I touch her, or try to pick her up. On the up-side, she is extremely smart and intelligent, and beautiful to look at. And quite fun to have around even if I don't get to handle her a lot. Plus, she is very simple to care for.

My spotted python is very quiet, and a lot slower, and doesn't mind being handled. She is incredibly sneaky, but a real sweetheart, and also quite easy to take care of, except more expensive than my other snakes, because she is larger, which makes her need a bigger enclosure. (I have a 60 gallon tank for her) Spotted pythons can live in 20 gallon tanks, but it's uncomfortable for them when they are full grown. It's better to have a 30-40 gallon tank, or larger for them.

As for my corn snake, he and can move very fast if he wants to, but he's usually pretty slow, and doesn't mind being picked up all that much, although he would rather not be held. He doesn't pee on me though, which is nice, and he doesn't bite either, or hasn't yet.

I've only ever been bitten by my python, and it was only because I had the smell of her food on my fingers when I put my hand in to take her out and feed her in her feeding tank. Always wash your hands very well before, and after handling a snake, and always feed them in separate enclosures. Don't feed them in their regular tank, or they'll start attacking anything you put into their tank, including yourself, thinking that it's food.

Those are just some ideas of good first snakes to get. They are all pretty basic, and all have different, unique personalities, and habits. What are good types of snakes to have as pets?A lot of snakes are good pets!

Here are my Top 5 Beginner Snakes:

    1. Corn snakes:

Easy, docile, eat without hesitation, beautiful, affordable, and come in so many colours it's super hard to choose which you want!

    2. Boas:

Maintain a managable size if male. Many dwarf species are avaliable as well. Gorgeous snakes, all the pointers of corns, except they can be more expensive.

    3. King snakes:

VERY enthusiastic feeders, beautiful, juvenilles are docile, but babies can be quick. Overall great snake.s

    4. Irian Jaya Carpet Pythons:

Great snakes if you want something a little more difficult, but do ALL your research before purchasing one!

    5. Ball pythons:

Last on my list for good reason: they are bad bad feeders. If you're going to get a BP, make sure you are sure it's a good feeder on FROZEN mice, NOT live, and make sure you let it adjust a good long time before you handle/feed him. '

Remember to do ALL your research and really think it out before you purchase! What are good types of snakes to have as pets?
