Considering that, like human females, they get "stuck with the kids" after getting pregnant. Plus, it costs far more to spay a female animal than it would to neuter a male because of the surgery.Do you think that female pets get turned into pounds the most? After working with a shelter for a few years, I have noticed that many puppies and kittens that are born are female. Maybe it is nature's way of survival of the species. More females, more pups. I do know that a lot of adult females that are turned in "won't stop having babies" or "won't take care of her babies". Its horrible.Do you think that female pets get turned into pounds the most?
I think males actually because they tend to be more aggressive/territorial. You know?Do you think that female pets get turned into pounds the most? No, they get turned into the pound less often, as females are generally considered to have a better temperament. Take a look at some ads from breeders for dogs- the females always cost more as well.Do you think that female pets get turned into pounds the most?
Yeah especially pusssssy cats.Do you think that female pets get turned into pounds the most?Actually I worked at a humane society for a few years and we had A LOT more makles dogs then females. Don't know why but we always had males and eveyone came in looking for females... People don't like marking and lifting legs on their bushes and stuff I guess. That was a comment we heard a lot.Do you think that female pets get turned into pounds the most?
not in my area. right now in the shelter in our town their three females and 16 males. males tend to be aggressive and territorial when they r pups. many males run away before they can be fixed and end up as strays that get brought to sheltersDo you think that female pets get turned into pounds the most?
No, far more males end up in shelters and rescues than females.
This is probably because males, especially unneutered males tend to wander a lot more, get lost and picked up by Animal Services.
The reason males get dumped by their owners far more than females is that untrained males lift their legs in the house, fight with other males, and dig out of the yard a lot more.
They also get dumped for "biting the kids" more often, usually because the kids are brats and the dog is defending itself - but the dog always loses
on that issue.
Spay and neuter, teach your dogs manners, male or female.
