There was nobody here today when I broke 200 on the video-game bowling, so both cats danced and gave me High-Fives! When I'm melancholy, they are there to cuddle and purr...Do you ever feel that your pets really KNOW what's going on?Do you draw your pets into your victories and sorrows?I'm convinced our pets know more than we think they know. We used to have a dog that went everywhere with us. If my husband and I got into an argument, even without raising our voices, the dog who was sitting in the back seat, would get up and put herself between us. It always made us laugh. We'd say things like "We should know better than to argue in front of the child".
btw, congrats on your bowling game. Good job!Do you draw your pets into your victories and sorrows?
I'm absolutely certain my dog knows what's going on...most of the time, even before I do. She has the uncanny ability to "perk" seconds before someone knocks at the door. To take it even further...if she runs to the door excitedly, but isn't barking...I know it's a familiar family/friend; but if she runs to the door barking, the visitor will undoubtedly be a 'stranger' and I act accordingly. Also, I work from home...the 2:30 to 11 p.m. shift, and at precisely 11 o'clock just when I'm shutting my work computer down...she comes into my office with her leash in her mouth (that's when we go out for our last 'constitutional' of the evening). I have not made even the slightest gesture to move from my office chair yet (and sometimes I even test her by holding off on shutting the computer down, because I assume it's the sound of quiet because the computer's off, that has signaled her)...but right at 11...there she is.
As for my moods...she's very friendly, but she's not an 'affectionate' dog and doesn't really react to my 'bluer' moods by cuddling or just simply being more attentive. However, if I'm irritated or just having an off day, she seems to know this, and will invariably relegate herself to an out of the way location...usually under the kitchen table.Do you draw your pets into your victories and sorrows? My pets are wonderful but they are not tuned in to me except at feeding time. The horses come up to be petted, the dogs are always joyful to see me, the cats love eating except for Nickalye who likes to curl up with me. The free roaming chickens follow me around, curious as cats. And the rabbit likes to hop around his large pen when I go let him out to play. It does not matter, they make me smile and laugh just to see and be with them. PoppyDo you draw your pets into your victories and sorrows?
My cat could not care less about anything I do, as long as there is food in her dish and I keep the electric blanket turned on during the day. She sits on hubby's lap most of the time. She'll come to me only if she wants to be fed. Then she'll sit on my lap or walk over the keyboard. She is a brat. However, sometimes at night when I can't sleep, she'll keep me company here and even give me some ideas. I guess I'll keep her, after this 12 year breaking in period.Do you draw your pets into your victories and sorrows? My dog certainly knows what's going on ,she has demonstrated many times that she actually does CARE and is aware of feelings. All my life i've had cats and miss not having any now,had some wonderful experiences with them, sooo tempting at times ...but i must resist ..
oh yes!....I have 2 dogs 2 years old each...all we have is each other and I'm always home and they know my schedule...it's like they can read my mind and moods....sooooo smart! They are in my lap right now. Oh, when I was on crutches they stayed right with me in my chair...and when I walked they walked right behind me and only went as fast as I did. But they're not wearing clothes.Do you draw your pets into your victories and sorrows?
