What are the Avantages of adopting pets from a rescue centre?

Note; there a many rescue centre, not just the RSPCA around Australia and New Zealand.

I have adopted two beautiful former stray Medium hair cats-18months and 2yr old, both are females from the RSPCA in Burwood, Victoria. It feels so good to give these beautiful girls a home forever and a 2nd chance of life.

Not all rescue shelter animals get a 2nd chance of life! You can find many animals in rescue shelters! These animals deserve a 2nd chance! What are the Avantages of adopting pets from a rescue centre?Shelters have all shapes and sizes of lovable mutts, purebreds, all-American cats, shaggy dogs, puppies and kittens, teenagers and oldsters. Your chances of finding a wonderful companion who matches your lifestyle, family, and home are excellent!

You鈥檙e not starting from scratch. When you buy a puppy, you鈥檙e essentially bringing an infant into your home鈥 completely untrained unsocialised animal! Whatever additional training needs to be done with a rescue dog will be much easier than training a puppy.

The bond is strong. Animals who have not gotten off to the best possible start in life-who have been neglected or even abused-tend to be very loyal and affectionate.

Fewer vet fees. Rescue animals have had physical examinations, have been spayed or neutered, have been tested for heartworm, and are up to date on shots.

It teaches your children good values and your doing it for a good cause. The RSPCA etc rely soley on individuals generosity and donations - therefore whatever you can do for them really helps!

Enough reasons? What are the Avantages of adopting pets from a rescue centre?
For the animal, or for you? You get to feel good about saving a life, you can find purebred dogs (if willing to wait for one) at bargain basement cost, you get to feel altruistic about your new pet. And, way more often than not, you wind up with a wonderful pet. For the dog? It is saved. Hopefully to a good, loving home. It HAS a home. It gets vet care, it gets fed properly, it gets the love it deserved before it wound up in the shelter, it escapes a death sentence, etc. etc. I would seek a rescue before going to a pet breeder, personally, as I want to be sure I'm not adding to the problem. Deeper than I wish to go here, 'k?What are the Avantages of adopting pets from a rescue centre?both my dogs are rescued. If I didn't rescue them I imagine they would both be dead by now. They have both bought so much joy to my family I couldn't imagine life without them. ttttttttttWhat are the Avantages of adopting pets from a rescue centre?
i think that best thing is the second chance. lacy my oldest was born at a shelter and it was sort of her first chance. she would have been put down at such a young age. then rizzo my other was abused and neglected. I am still working with her. i think that pain will always be there. i just wish i could take all the pain away. What are the Avantages of adopting pets from a rescue centre? You are able to provide a warm and loving home to a creature that may have been mistreated terribly, or loved very much and suddenly lost his best buddy. You relieve the often overcrowded and underfunded rescue centre's and make it possible for them to help more lost and abused pets. You gain years on your life, a friend who will love you no matter what, someone to depend on, who will depend on you and never complain. It will help you to be the person your pet thinks you are in your daily life. If you are as good and respectful of humans as you are to your pet, you will be blessed with people who want to be good to you too. What are the Avantages of adopting pets from a rescue centre?
