YES it will be great for a single kid to take care of if....
1. you tell them, teach them, show them how to take care of the hamster. get a book on it, and ask the pet store on tips.
2. get a teddy bear hamster! dwarfs are cute but fast and a kid cant hold them well
3. cage cleaning is easy but USE THE RIGHT SOAP otherwise you could kill your furry friend
4. make sure before buying one that it is healthy (no discolored teeth, no nose goo, a shiny coat, no hunched back) ask the pet store if ya can hold the hamster first (dont get one that bites!)Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?

Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?guinea pigs. funner, easier, bite less often, and are more cuddly. Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?hmasters cages are very stinky and hard to clean. I suggest a hermit crab instead, easy and fun. Most dont pinch. Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?No, they bite.
The bite is very painful and deep, it will bleed and bleed until the would finally clots.
I was just remembering getting bitten by my sister's hamster when I was a kid.
When i was younger i had a friend who had hampsters. She had only one at first, and never took care of it. When you dont clean its cage it will start to smell really bad.
Everytime she took it out, it was always trying to run away from her, and eventually, it got lost in the house. They're tiny and easy to loose, and its really sad if you start to love it, and it gets lost and then you find it dead somewhere, which could happen. It happend to my friend, and she cried alot. Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?
It really depends on the kid. . Kids just have to pay careful attention to those small rodents. They can get lost pretty easily. My cousin once bought a hamster and it ran away and hid in her garage and was then found about three or four days later. Fortunately it was found alive.
Im 15 and i love my dear hammy im probley ging to get another one soon.
When i was eight i got a hamster from a freind. After about the first week the whole Novilety wore off and my mom did almost everthing for it.
At about age 12 i bought another hamster. I took really good care of him and did everything myself. Heck I even took care of my sisters.
now im 15 and i have a new hamster he is living the life.
So If you buy your hamster for your/someone esles kid you have to be sure that they will look after it. Hamsters are not toys but have to be cared for properly.
Cleaning is diferent fepending on the type of cage you get so it will very for everyone. Are hamsters good pets for a kid to own and care for?
noooooooooooooooooooooo
hamsters are delicate and easily crusheded... and then the kid would have to clean the cage and stuff and if the kid gets bit hes gona cry
just no
deffinetely not
Sorry if I disappoint you but I remember when I was a kid I used to have hamsters. You have to keep them really clean, especially their cages, and they are not so friendly. When you take them out of the cage you have to run after them. Pets are good for the kids but If I were you I wouldnt choose a hamster.
yes!!! i have a robo hamster and shes the most adorable ever!!!! she looks at me with her cute eyes. i cant believe that i was able to tame her since robos are only for viewing purposes. but mine, im able to touch her and play with her. shes just soo adorable.
kinda, it depends if u are prepared to help wiv the care and if the kid is responcible and over 5 yrs
here are the basics.
1. hamsters are fun
2. if they are in the right hands and treated correctly they will learn not to bite.
3. they cage only gets smelly if you dont clean
4. it may or may not be hard to clean the cage according to what kinda cage you have
last but not least
5. hamsters are great pets and usaully love to be played with
hamsters bite and make noise all night. guinea pigs are very sweet and dont mind being handled gently but older children and adults.
yes long as you clean the cages if you dont theyll get wet tail(deadly) and die; wet tail comes from a dirty cage
if you do decide to get a hamster, get a syrian, which are more friendly and don't bite as much.
they are very easy to take care of because they don't require a lot of time and money. all you need to do is replace their food dish and water bottle daily, and clean the cage once a week. cleaning the cage isn't hard either. all you have to do is replace the bedding.
