Is the cost of pets different when taken to vet?

we have 2 kittens... for them to get vaccine, is it like we usually have to pay $60 for each? and is check up less expensive? and also for whatever they have to do, like shots, de-worm, spaying/netrurlize(not sure how to spell it lol) do each of these things cost seperately? which one of these is the most expensive? spaying/neturlizing? what do they do by the way to neturalize/spay them? we never had pets so we are trying to find these things out....Is the cost of pets different when taken to vet?The cost for each service will be itemized.

Neutering a male is less evasive (the testicles are removed). And spaying involves a major surgery (where the ovaries and uterus are removed.) These services can cost anywhere from $100-$400 depending on where you live, etc.

I enrolled my cats in the Petsmart/Banfield pet plan when I got them. We pay $10/month for each cat. That includes two 6-month checkups, routine vaccinations, etc. Most vets will offer a payment plan if you cannot pay the entire bill upon receipt, however.

Ask around, get references and meet vets. Don't feel ashamed to switch to another vet if you don't like the vet you visit. Is the cost of pets different when taken to vet?
You should call vets in your area to get a general idea of pricing. You would be surprised at how much the price can vary from vet to vet. Generally the most expensive procedure is spaying (it cost us twice as much to spay our female cat as it did to neuter or male cat). When a female cat is spayed her reproductive organs are removed. When a male cat is neutered is the testicles are removed. Usually both procedures are done at around 6 months of age, but you should consult with your vet and see what they recommend. As for the shots and checkup they should be the same amount for both cats regardless of whether they are male or female (some vets charge less if you bring in two cats at a time so you should ask about that as well when calling). Is the cost of pets different when taken to vet? When I worked in a vet office the computer program enabled me to produce an estimate for clients which listed an itemized statement for the cost of various services. So if you were willing to go around to a few offices you might be able to get something like that to compare one vet with another.

The neutering surgery is the most expensive (spay and neuter) because of anesthesia, post op meds, etc.Is the cost of pets different when taken to vet?
Spaying and Neutering usually depend on the weight of the animal. I assume a male would be cheaper to neuter than a female to spay. Any kind of shot price varies by the size.. but they aren't expensive. You should call around to your local vets and ask them what shots you need to get for your kittens and how much each of them cost.

My dog was spayed three weeks ago and she was 42lbs and it cost 135.00 to spay her. If she would have been 3 pounds heavier it would have been 145-150.....

Definitely call a vet and they should be more than willing to tell you what their prices are.Is the cost of pets different when taken to vet?No. On the bill it will say something like:

Check up $17.00 (X2)

Vaccine $20.00 (X2)

The cost for each pet is usually about the same. Kittens require all the same vaccines. To have them spayed/neutered will cost around $150 give or take a few dollars. Call around and do some pricing. You might find some vets will spay/neuter less as an animal control issue. Remember with cats they do need the feline leukemia test/vaccine which adds a little more.
