My husbands work requires him to give them a detailed report about any dr visit that is excused during work hours. He cannot return to work unless he gives them this medial information. This is a part of most companies' FMLA policy and it is perfectly legal. So, when your spouse visits the doctor, there is usually a co-pay and with that, the patient gets a "receipt".
