How do you find out information about cop radar for a court case?

I am fighting a speeding ticket where the radar gave an incorrect reading (I was not travelling the speed he said I was), but I want to find out what type of unit the officer was using (radar, laser, etc). I would also like to see if I can get any documentation that exists prior to my court date, but I do not know where to go to get this information. The ticket is from a small town in my area, and they contract with the county sherriff dept for enforcement.

Thanks for the help! How do you find out information about cop radar for a court case?Everything the police have that relates to your citation has to be made available to you. Just walk in and ask them how to request it. If they are not cooperative, send them a letter and recite that you asked for the stuff informally, in person, and you were refused. Then go to court and tell the judge that you want the ticket dismissed because you have been denied "discovery" by the prosecution/police.
