If a cop runs a background check on someone, what information will show up? Address, phone numbers, work history? Based on you saying it is being done by the police, that means it is likely a criminal records check. This would entail them checking for any criminal record information (arrests, convictions, etc.) against national criminal databases. I doubt they would care much about things like address history, marital status, civil records (like bankduptcy filings, etc.)
